A person was arrested early Sunday morning after stealing a forklift from a church building website in Lake County and taking it for a joyride.
Residents close to the First Baptist Church website in Umatilla referred to as 911 after seeing the forklift plow by means of a fence surrounding the development website. When a Umatilla police officer arrived on the building website at 2:30 a.m., he noticed 25-year-old Jordan Meadors getting out of the seat of the big yellow forklift. When the officer requested Meadors what he was doing, Meadors stated, “A man that he simply met instructed him he was allowed to drive the forklift and park it throughout the road,” based on the officer’s arrest report.
Meadors was positioned underneath arrest on a cost of loitering and prowling and was taken to the Lake County Jail the place he was discovered to have methamphetamine in his coat.
Later that day, one other officer made contact with the forklift’s proprietor who instructed the officer that he wished to prosecute the one that took the forklift and broken the development fence.
Meadors is dealing with expenses of introducing contraband right into a county detention facility, possession of methamphetamine, felony mischief, loitering or prowling, housebreaking of an unoccupied conveyance, and theft. Bond was set at $21,500.
