Department of Labor investigation underway after man dies from falling off forklift

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) – The North Carolina Division of Labor is investigating the demise of a person who apparently fell from a pallet on a forklift.

In keeping with the report on the Rowan Sheriff’s Workplace, Jeffrey Jason Goodman, 43, died on Friday morning at a residential building website within the 2600 block of Webb Street.

Deputies say Goodman was standing on a pallet with roughly 20 sheets of plywood. The pallet was on a forklift that had been raised 12 ft close to the aspect of the constructing. When Goodman requested the operator to maneuver the forklift nearer to the constructing, he fell to the bottom. A number of items of the plywood fell onto Goodman.

First responders tried life saving measures however weren’t profitable.

The North Carolina Division of Labor and Occupational Well being and Security Administration are investigating the incident.
